Adults who are developmentally disabled confront a number of unique challenges. Epilepsy can interfere with personal and financial independence, self-esteem, mental well-being, and social interactions.
Confronting these challenges can become overwhelming. Our Counseling and Supportive Employment Services provide the skills and resources to meet these challenges by empowering developmentally disabled adults with epilepsy and their families so that a satisfying and rewarding lifestyle can be established.
Supportive Employment
The program's focus is to develop the client's skills to search for, obtain and maintain a vocation.
The supportive employment specialist initiates the job hunt to accommodate and enhance the client's capabilities by exploring the job opportunities and careers. The employment specialist aggressively pursues local business to establish competitive employment opportunities. the client's interviewing skills and resume are developed in collaborative process between the client and specialist. Once a suitable position has been obtained, the specialist continues with a follow along process while instructing the client about job survival skills to ensure success.
